Bosnia & Herzegovina salary calculator

Estimate net pay in Bosnia & Herzegovina. BiH is not one system — the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska have different tax and contribution rates, so the calculator asks you to pick the entity first. The result is an estimate based on the rates in force for 2026.

  • Two entities — FBiH and RS — kept clearly apart
  • No sign-up and no hidden costs
  • In Bosnian and English

Quick calculation

Pick the entity first (FBiH or RS), enter the gross salary and your dependants — the calculator instantly shows take-home net, the broken-down contributions and tax, and the total employer cost. The result is an estimate, not an official decision.

And Brčko District? Brčko follows the fund you’re registered with — explained on the Entities page. More about the entities

The Federation of BiH (FBiH) rules were applied: 10% income tax, a coefficient-based personal allowance, 31% employee contributions + 5% employer.

Notes on the calculation (1)

FBiH: the employer bears extra on-salary contributions (75 KM); the total employer cost is 1.575 KM. It does not reduce your net.

BiH is not one tax system: the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska have their own laws, rates and way of setting the base. So the same gross salary yields a different net depending on the entity you’re registered in.

In FBiH part of the contributions is borne by the employee (from pay) and part by the employer (on pay, on top of gross). In RS all contributions are “gross-gross” — contained in gross pay, with nothing extra from the employer.

After contributions and the personal allowance, a flat income tax is charged on the remaining base — at a rate that differs between the entities. The rates shown are those in force for 2026.

How the monthly calculation works

BiH is not one tax system: the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska have their own laws, rates and way of setting the base. So the same gross salary yields a different net depending on the entity you’re registered in.

In FBiH part of the contributions is borne by the employee (from pay) and part by the employer (on pay, on top of gross). In RS all contributions are “gross-gross” — contained in gross pay, with nothing extra from the employer.

After contributions and the personal allowance, a flat income tax is charged on the remaining base — at a rate that differs between the entities. The rates shown are those in force for 2026.

Why the same gross yields a different net

The answer is the entity: FBiH and RS have different tax rates, different contribution mechanics and a different personal allowance. The same gross therefore carries a different net in the two entities.

In this version the Brčko District is explained but not a separate calculation — in practice it follows the fund the worker is registered with. See the Entities page for the detail.

What net really tells you

Take-home net is the amount that actually reaches your account after contributions and tax. In FBiH the employer additionally bears the “on-pay” contributions on top of gross — that is an employer cost, not a deduction from your net.

Some items — like the RS Solidarity Fund or the low-skill-role relief — do not apply to everyone, so they stay out of the core calculation; we surface them as a note alongside the result.
